Blog #2: The Who pt. 2

MARCH 25, 2026

just a small update, i relistened to A Quick One and Quadrophenia, and i listened to The Who By Numbers and Who Are You. i still don't care too much for A Quick One, but i did at least find the structure of 9 minute long title track pretty cool. as for Quadrophenia i think it's great musically, and the story is quite well told. i don't think any rock opera ould be as great as The Wall, but that's just my personal opinion. my favourite tracks were The Real Me, Cut My Hair, The Punk and The Godfather, I've Had Enough, 5:15, and Love Reign O'er Me. cool album. The Who By Numbers is a pretty good record. i've read that it was made when they were burnt out after touring and shooting a film adaptation of Tommy. and there's no grand concept. and even though i like the rock operas it is nice to just hear some quality music here. it's enjoyable all the way through. my favourite songs from this are: Slip Kid, Squeeze Box, Imagine A Man, Blue Red And Gray, and How Many Friends. that last one has some deep lyricism. i also listened to "Who Are You" but uh. im gonna be real the only tracks i have any memories of are the title track and Trick of The Light. not a really memorable album. its a shame the drummer died a few weeks after it was released, RIP legend. i think that's enough Who for now though. im gonna listen to some Kanye West tomorrow.
